Vikram Thaploo, CEO – Apollo TeleHealth, a certified hospital management professional from the IIM Ahmedabad and Healthcare management professional from the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad. With over 2 decades of experience in diverse industries including healthcare, retail and hospitality, he is a pioneer in start-ups, transformer and builder of one of the largest Digital Healthcare companies in the word – Apollo TeleHealth.

Vikram is currently leading Apollo Hospitals’ Centre of Excellence for Remote Healthcare Vertical. This comprises of Apollo TeleHealth (Healthcare delivery and TeleClinics Company), HealthNet Global Limited (Healthcare Technology Company) and Apollo Telemedicine Networking Foundation (Not-for-profit Company) along with the government business vertical.

Vikram has a superior track record in conceptualizing ideas and implementing them for successful business expansion. Having been in positions responsible for P&L for more than a decade, Vikram has strategized and implemented several innovative projects, he has strategized and implemented several innovative projects. His result oriented, enthusiastic and yet logical approach to challenges has helped him perform effectively even in highly competitive work environments. He aims to make healthcare accessible to all using the convergence of Technology, Telecom, and MedTech ecosystems, thus, delivering Continuum of Care.

Successfully implemented one of its kind projects – Tele-ICU (eICU), which has a potential to link all semi-urban / urban hospitals to tertiary care ICUs and improve the ICU services of these remote hospitals, thus, ensuring better care and services to these communities.
Conceptualization and execution of a first of its kind Tele-Emergency innovation in India on a PPP mode in the state of Himachal Pradesh – 14,000 ft above sea level.
Innovated a healthcare delivery model for population health where urban PHCs were upgraded to become electronic urban PHCs with health and wellness programs embedded. Under this innovation, 195 UPHCs (Electronic Urban Primary Healthcare Centers) across the state of Andhra Pradesh were upgraded.
Augmented healthcare delivery in eye care by enabling Tele-Ophthalmology in CHCs to become a comprehensive eye care program. In this innovation, 115 CHCs were upgraded and these services are consumed by over a million patients.
Strategized and successfully implemented the unique Tele-Radiology project in 134 Community Health Centres in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Under his leadership, he started the “Apollo Rural Connect” Program, Apollo Remote Healthcare has reached out to 350,000 Gram Panchayats level CSC centres under the aegis of the “Digital India” initiative of the Government of India and help them become Rural TeleClinics; thereby enabling around 30 crore Indian population to get access to quality primary healthcare virtually.
